We were in town visiting my daughter and her boyfriend. They recommended Osteria. I am glad they did. The restaurant is dark, however we were able to snag a table in the sunroom. It was comfortable, feeling like we were eating on the porch without being on a porch. The service was attentive and we could easily have a pleasant conversation. To start, we ordered the the grilled broccolini caesar and a fungi pizza to share. The fungi pizza was excellent, coming with oyster mushroom, truffle bechamel, caramelized onion and taleggio. The wood oven put just the right amount of bite in the crust. I highly recommend it as an appetizer. However, the star of the evening was the broccolini caesar. It was perfectly grilled and the peperoncino, bread crumb and ricotta salata perfectly complimented the broccolini without overwhelming it. I could have just had another order for my entree and called it a night. It is that good!! But instead, for my entree I selected the Rigatoni that features chicken liver, cipollini onion and sage. My daughter told me this ias one of the dishes they are known for, and it is quite good. I asked her boyfriend to describe the difference between a cipollini onion and a yellow onion. I'm still waiting for a response. While I waited, I enjoyed this delicious pasta. Be warned that the chicken liver is rich. If you don't like liver, this might not be the dish for you. However if you do...get it. My wife enjoyed Mandilli di Seta, which is a pasta with basil pesto, toasted pinenuts, tuscan pecorino. Although she was still full from the pizza, she still powered through the pasta, thus ensuring a peaceful sleep train ride back to DC. All in all, a great meal. I can see us coming back again, as there are so many entrees that I would love top explore. Well done Osteria! Still waiting for closure on the onion quiz...

The experience at Osteria is awesome, and I enjoy each time! The ambiance is gorgeous. As you walk in, you get a feel for the open kitchen seating, quaint tables, as well and outdoor seating which is available whenever there is not an event or wedding happening outside (can you blame anyone for not using this great space with so many plant accents in the warmer weather?) The staff is very friendly, making it easy to be seated quickly. I recommend making a reservation whenever you are coming, especially during happy hour which happens even on the weekend. I enjoyed their wine selection, and friends who came tried their spritz and cocktail options as well. There is a beverage available for everyone. For food, I am one happy pescatarian having tried their grilled octopus and fish dishes. I've had their pasta with lump crab meat rolled in and also get their broccolini Ceasar on repeat (I just ask for no cheese and light dressing due to dairy being a sensitive topic, even if it's worth it!) Their pasta is fresh and their dishes are very unique! Be sure to ask for the tasty bread!

This place is deeeeeeeelicious and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic or intimate date night, professional dinner with clients, or dinner with the girls. I found this spot thanks to all the reviews on yelp. I walked in by myself looking for something to snack on during happy hour. Clearly I didn't leave disappointed. I sat at the bar by myself and the bartender provided great service throughout my time there. My favorite item was probably the charred octopus but the margarita pizza was so flavorful. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. Surprisingly the most expensive dish I ordered was the lava cake with raspberry sorbet. It was ooey and gooey and warm. I think there was nuts on the sorbet and condensed milk on the bottom of the plate but I could be wrong. All I know for sure is it was delicious. It hit the spot. Happy hour is m-th 5-7pm and they have a different time frame during the weekends but I didn't take note of it. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for higher end Italian food!

I've been waiting to go here for months and the wait was well worth it!!! The experience was great and the food was divine. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by a friendly welcoming hostess. Overall the most of staff was awesome. Our server Emma was incredible. She was so personable and helpful. She was attentive with a great personality and not over bearing like some waitstaff can be. She gave great recommendations. The bar area is super tiny. We went for a drink before the reservation. The bartenders weren't friendly at all and acted like we were an inconvenience. Once seated the in house Somme offered help when deciding drinks at the table. Broccolini- blanched but still nice and crunchy. Good lemon zest and crunch parm but not over the top ceasar. Loved it. Artichoke was very greasy with a slight crunch. Creamy flavor with sauce. Octopus was tender and pairs well with the oil sauce. Has a slight crunch on the outside and a savory onion garlic flavor. The Parama pizza was delish! Good combo with peppery arugula and salty prosciutto. Unsure the cheese but super creamy and perfect. Rigittoni- Al dente. Great flavor. Creamy and savory Strawberry Zappa inglese- sooo good. Basically strawberry shortcake but an elevated version. Pistachio gelato is delicious. Refreshing and pure pistachio flavor. The honey gelato is sooo good, sweet and mild.

Possibly planning to have our micro-wedding here at Osteria and this is our first time here at this restaurant. Right when we walked in, we already love the vibes of the place. There's a nice kitchen area on the right side and a bar area right when you walk in towards the back. We came during happy hour and arrived right when it started (5pm) and we were seated immediately. There was a little line but I do recommend going early because the place gets packed quick and you might have to wait for a while for a seat. However, the outdoor area was taken up by a company event... We ordered their specialty cocktail drink, the Paloma, which was tequila and I believe grapefruit juice and that tasted amazing. Had two of those and I'm not really much of a drinker like that. Ordered the broccolini Caesar, octopus and margherita pizza to start off and they were all delicious. Main course we had the rigatoni pasta with chicken liver, half chicken entree and also the whole branzino. The pasta was really good even though I'm not a fan of chicken liver. Also loved how the wood half chicken was cooked, wasn't dried at all and the branzino was just fantastic. Didn't taste fishy at all and it was very light. Delicious! And then we ordered two more margherita pizza to take home because it was just too good. Our server was so attentive and helpful! She was so nice and friendly. Wish I got her name so I can give her a shoutout on here. Provided great service to us! Highly recommend coming here for happy hour or even just dinner. Vibes were amazing at this restaurant.

I LOVED the food. I'm not typically a big fan of Italian food, but everything we ate at Osteria was great! Even my parents who don't usually eat Italian food enjoyed the broccolini. I really liked the broccolini because even though it had cheese it didn't taste very heavy and I loved the lemony flavor it had. The focaccia was also one of the best I've had--well-seasoned on the outside and so soft on the inside. I don't even like organs, but the rigatoni (made with chicken liver) tasted savory and was quite good while it was warm. I also am not a big fan of pizza, but I really enjoyed the Funghi ($19) mushroom pizza. I really liked the sweet onions on top. The only thing I would not get again is the salmon, not because it was bad (because it was quite delicious. I enjoyed the lemon flavor), but because it's something I know I can find at another restaurant. Also a note that the portions of the pasta are not that big, but my group didn't have large appetites so it worked out fine. If I come back to Philly again I will try to make it back to Osteria because their Italian food is great and also try a desert (since we were so full from our meal we did not try one). The service was great as well. We lyfted over and there was a bit of traffic getting there, but we called ahead to let them know we were running 15-20 minutes late and they held our table for us. Note we did make a reservation for this restaurant about ~1 month in advance. Our waiters were attentive and even helped us take a group photo. They had us order everything at once (except the desert) and brought out the food in parts (Focaccia, then pizza and appetizer, then entrees). They also boxed up the leftovers for us, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself was clean and had a fresh, but homey feel. I hope next time we can sit in the enclosed greenhouse area. It looked quite pretty, but even sitting in the regular part of the restaurant was nice. They used a real candle (and not one of those lights that look like a candle), which I appreciated.

I came here for happy hour with a few girlfriends and had a great time. Asteria is such a beautiful restaurant. It's got great ambience for being able to catch up with some friends or also a cozy date night. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful when it came to the ordering. While the food menu had a lot of choices for happy hour I do wish that there were more options for the drinks. We were disappointed that we were unable to sit out in the garden area . we had five people in our party and they told us it was an uneven number to be seated outside. Meanwhile we got there at exactly 5 PM and no one was even seated out there yet. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and all agreed that our favorites were the beef tartare, the broccolini Caesar, and then we ordered from the dinner menu the mushroom truffle pizza. If you're trying to sit outside, make sure you haven't even number and get there early since it gets packed pretty quickly .
